Early Years Foundation Stage
Welcome from Early Years Foundation Stage Coordinator, Gabriele Weber
The Kindergarten at The North London International School celebrated its 21st anniversary two years ago. In October of last year, the Kindergarten, Reception and Year 1 classes moved site and are now housed in a similar building connected to the Lower School building at 49 Woodside Avenue.
Being together on one site has proved to be very beneficial for all the children. The younger children enjoy the company of the older children in story times and benefit from their help around the school. We provide a warm and welcoming environment and encourage parental involvement. The children have many opportunities to visit their local community and go on trips to museums, zoos and parks.
The Kindergarten and Reception classes follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. From the age of three years the Primary Years Programme (PYP) is introduced alongside the EYFS.
Both programmes focus on the importance of learning through play and a commitment to structured, purposeful inquiry, as it underpins all development and learning for young children.
The information that you will find on our website is a general overview and if you would like further information please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
