 About Parent Link

 

The North London International School (NLIS) Parent Link is a lively and active part of the school community. Parent Link is composed of a group of parent representatives from each year group. There are two active parent link groups at NLIS – one for the Lower School and one for the Upper School.

 

Parent Link Mission Statement

Parent Link exists as a liaison group between parents, staff and school administration set up to help build and maintain a strong and thriving school community.

What are the aims of Parent Link?

 

Community Building

Role of building the school community by regularly liaising with the parents at NLIS. They are also available to listen to and respond to the needs of parents and point them in the right direction to get help from within the school.

 

Activities

Plans and runs activities within the school, which are often fund raising or social events

 

Fund Raising

Upholds a fund raising profile supporting the school’s ongoing Cambodia appeal

 

Consultation

Available for the school to consult on decision making that affects the education and care of the children in the school

 

New Parents

Parents new to NLIS will be introduced to Parent Link members to welcome them to the school and have the opportunity to discuss questions or concerns they may have about school matters

 

Social

Maintains a social element to its activity programme both within school and outside as well. This gives parents opportunities to participate in regular activities.

Class Representatives

These individuals have the role of encouraging other parents to attend meetings and to promote and support the programme of activities
 

How does Parent Link communicate?

 

With School

The liaison representative from Parent Link is in regular contact with the Communications Officer to ensure a two-way flow of communication

With Parents

The Parent Link members are in regular contact with all parents at the school. Parent Link has the aim of maintaining contact to encourage maximum participation
