Biographical Statement: |
I was born in Dorset but spent most of my childhood by the sea near Swansea. My main interest has always been ballet, which I studied between the ages of four and 18.
After leaving school, I went to Frenchay Hospital near Bristol to study nursing. After three years of training, I started a family and took a career break.
Once my youngest son was at school, I went to college to study counselling and passed the RSA Certificate in counselling skills. I also did voluntary work for the local health authority.
In 2000, when both of my children were at school, I started work at Woodside Park as a teaching assistant. I successfully qualified as a Level Three Teaching Assistant in 2007 gaining a grade A pass.
Both of my children are now at university, and I currently live in Barnet with my partner Mark, who since retiring as an RAF Officer also works in a school.
I still have a keen interest in ballet and the arts and also wish to pursue a Level Four Teaching Assistant (TA) qualification in the near future.
