Biographical Statement:

Born in Hong Kong to a Dutch father and a ½ Greek, ½ Ethiopian mother. Came to the UK after living for 10 years in several countries in South East Asia. Now living in London with my wife, daughter (14 years) and son (12 years).

 

  • Passed 9 “O” levels and 3 “A” levels at a boarding school in West Sussex, England.
  • Took a gap-year and worked as a pizza and grill chef in an up-market restaurant in West England.
  • Completed a Business Studies Degree at Middlesex University.
  • Worked for a year as a door-to-door salesman in Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland, Holland and Western Australia
  • Worked for 15 months as a graduate trainee with National Westminster Bank.
  • Completed a professional accountancy qualification.
  • Worked for 6 years at a medium sized firm of Chartered Accountants in Central London.
  • Financial Controller of an employment agency for a year.
  • Worked for 4 ½ years in a central accounting department of a multi-national branded sportswear company who own the Speedo, Ellesse, kangROOS and Berghaus brands amongst others.
  • Joined NLIS in October 2004 as Chief Financial Officer.
